Abstract

Inundation control in an area can be done by maximizing the absorption of water into the soil. Porous paving blocks have high porosity due to their higher ability to pass water, but lower strength compared to conventional paving blocks. Blood clams (Anadara Granosa) with hard shells can be used as building materials. Fly ash as a waste of power plant used as cement substitute. This research uses a porous paving block made using fly ash (FA) as cement and Anadara Granosa shells (CK) as coarse aggregate. The ratio of the materials for making porous paving blocks is 4; 3; 2.5; 2 and 1.5 with cement substituted with 30% FA. This research purpose is to determine the effect on the compressive strength and infiltration rate of porous paving blocks by knowing the coefficient of permeability. The compressive strength of the porous paving block obtained are V1  14,83 MPa, V2  1,5 MPa, V3  4,66 MPa, V4  4,58 MPa, V5  8,75 MPa, V 4,50 MPa. While the average coefficient of permeability are V1  0,0045 cm/s, V2  0,0048 cm/s, V3  0,0040 cm/s, V4  0,0038 cm/s, V5  0,0051 cm/s, and V6  0,005 cm/s. The use of Anadara Granosa shells with ratio 1(0.7PC + 0.3 FA) : 2 CK reachs the optimum permeability.
