Abstract
Concrete beam is one form of embodiment of concrete material. The beam basically bears a bending moment followed by a shear force so that the stress that arises in each part or element shows characteristics that can be identified both based on deformation and damage patterns visually. Under certain conditions experimental concrete testing cannot be carried out with various limited resources. The finite element method (FEM) approach is quite reliable in analyzing the behavior of structural elements made of concrete both in elastic and inelastic conditions. However, for concrete inelastic conditions, further parameters are needed, namely the concrete damage plasticity parameter. Compressive and tensile behavior and their parameters are key in conducting FEM analysis to obtain stress output, deformation and failure mode of the element being analyzed.
