Abstract

There are certain specifications that must be used in selecting batteries in solar power plants, such as how long a solar panel battery will last, and how much power the battery provides. In this study, there will be several criteria that will be used in comparing regarding battery energy storage options and several types of solar power plant batteries. When considering for solar energy storage options many specifications whose products are still very difficult the most important thing to use for this evaluation are battery capacity, power value, energy release (DoD). Capacity is the total amount of electricity that a solar battery can store measured in kilowatts – Hours (kWh). A battery with a high capacity with a low power rating will produce a fairly low amount of electricity as well as it can only be used to power some important electrical appliances while a battery with a low capacity and high power rating can run all household appliances but in a short time only a few hours. For this reason, this study obtained the results of the magnitude of DoD referring to the amount of battery capacity used with a battery capacity of 10 kWh having a DoD of 90% then it should not use more than 9 kWh of battery before recharging. In general, having a higher DoD will be able to take advantage of the battery capacity used.
