Abstract

The State of Charge (SoC) Depth of Discharge (DoD) monitoring method on lithium batteries that is widely used in simple devices in everyday life often results in inaccurate and precise readings, thus providing users with inaccurate battery condition information. In this research, a simple monitoring device using Arduino with IC REF02 voltage reference is made to increase accuracy and Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) ADS1115 to increase SoC and DoD reading precision. SoC and DoD values were obtained by voltage method and matching with datasheet. From the test results, it can be observed that the reading of the voltage value with the integrated voltage reference IC shows more stable results, in contrast to conditions without a voltage regulator IC. The increase in the accuracy of the observed readings is ±1.0009274359%. Meanwhile, the use of 16-bit ADC1115 increases the ability to read up to 6 digits. while the use of the internal ADC from arduino is only able to read up to 3 digits. From the observations, it is also found that increasing precision using ADC will actually reduce the accuracy of the readings so that it needs to be installed together with the IC voltage reference.
